A merger like this is, of course, not a first for our area – the Ed-Lark Hurricanes continued the legacy of the Larksville and Edwardsville teams after they combined many years ago. Likewise, the Wyoming Valley West Spartans high school team formed following the state-mandated merger of area high schools in the early 1960s.
